Always Helping

This week has been stressful. As I often do, I offered to help a friend, and I’m genuinely glad I did. It allowed them to have a productive few days. At the same time, I was dealing with a severe, persistent cough that kept me from sleeping for several nights. Trying to balance my own well-being with my instinct to show up for others (and of course my usual motherly duties) was the hardest part.

Unfortunately due to this respiratory virus I’ve had, my surgery has been delayed as I feared it would need to be. The pre-op team told me as soon as I am 100% without symptoms, call and they will schedule the surgery for 2 weeks later. Will I stay healthy and symptom free for a full 2 weeks during this awful flu-filled time of the year? I can only hope. I have way too much I want to accomplish this spring and summer to continue to have a bum hip, or to be in recovery for the time I have things to do. So the sooner I can be well and get this done, the better.

There’s also been some heavier family drama this week. I’m not going over details, but I’m asking my friends and family to keep us in your thoughts. One of my adult kiddos needs some extra love and help right now. And I’ll just leave it at that.

I hope everyone else’s week has been less chaotic than mine, and that your weekend is relaxing and pleasant.

And what do you have to say about that?
