My household has been under the weather these last few days, so I don’t have a well written story about something happening in my life right now, or an opinion piece on the state of the world. I’ve been so foggy-headed I’ve barely been able to eat or drink the way I should. I’m thankful Felix was with his dad this weekend so I could get some rest and not have to pay attention to anything — as my brain wasn’t really working well. Hah!
But while I’ve been taking OTC meds that just don’t seem to have the effectiveness they once did, I decided to ask the wonderful community at Project Echoes for some natural remedies. I’m going to share them here today.

Disclaimer: this is not medical advice. I have not tested any of these yet, and they are added here in everyone’s own words. Feel free to try if you’d like, but at your own discretion.
Maddy H says: I do jasmine tea with honey. My friends swear by elderberry syrup. I don’t know how they make it though. But sometimes little apothecaries or locals will sell it.
Nashota L says: A good natural cold remedy is put peeled garlic cloves in a glass jar (with lid) and cover with honey (don’t fill to the brim, leave some space so it doesn’t overflow). Leave for about 30 days and you have a natural cough syrup. You can also eat the garlic cloves for extra benefit. The honey will turn into a thinner liquid when it’s ready.
Chris K says: My favorite remedy is as follows, knocks it out quick:
– Herbal tea of your choice
– About a tsp of manuka honey
– Dash of cinnamon
– Dash of tumeric
– 7 whole cloves
– A pinch of black pepper
Amanda C says: When I don’t feel well I cut an onion into four pieces and boil it with about four bulbs of garlic and some red pepper flakes. I strain the liquid and drink the broth. It isn’t the best tasting, but it does seem to help.
If you have any remedies that have worked for you, I encourage you to share in the comments!

And what do you have to say about that?
